Mike Longo “900 Shares of Blues”

Diggz this week, Mike Longo’s 1975 release “900 Shares of Blues” which has guests features including Joe Farrell, Ron Carter. Mike Longo was born March 19, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio and is a jazz pianist, composer, and author. Longo has at least 18 albums under his own name.He has also appeared as a sideman or contributed original compositions to more than 50 additional albums. Longo is most known for his work with Dizzy Gillespie on “The Earth Is But One Country, Mike Longo with Dizzy Gillespie.”

Here @ BeatCultur3 we have give props where props is due and in this first installment of “Props” we give a super props to Emcee, Producer, visionary, ultimate hiphoper JAX of Binkis Recs. I had the honor of knowing and performing with him before his untimely passing for which ATL hiphop, family, friends and those that know of him and all he stood for lives on in his music. With that said, as I was going thru a box of CD’s I came across one of his first offerings of work called “JAX OBSERVE LP…An Unmastered Masterpiece”. Which makes this so dope is that he did most of the production himself (on an MPC 2000XL) and had DJ Drama who produced a track on this project along with some others as COALESCE and Danny DABEATO. Here at BeatCultur3 we are all about the music and we give PROPS to JAX.
